Growing up in the GTA, I have always been in some part of the construction industry since I was 14 years old. It started off with painting houses for many years, and naturally I ended up in custom home building, with one of the coolest projects being revitalizing a historic 1825 home, including lifting the entire house to fix the foundation!
From there, I went and got my Bachelors Degree in Construction Science & Management which led to a different opportunity I never would have thought of back then, the solar industry. Saying yes to that opportunity meant a temporary leave from the city to move north for a year, to assist in overseeing the building of a large portfolio of solar farms. As a city guy, I didn’t want to leave, but had to for this company. Well let’s just say that was the best decision I ever made, because I never made it back down to the city in 2013. This was the best lifestyle change I have ever made!
What is your favourite space in your home?
My favourite space in my home is outside of my home. The backyard, on the Nottawasaga River.
If you could have any superpower what would it be?
Ironman. I want to be Ironman so bad that I got a Flyboard (yes those hoverboards that fly in the air powered by the jet ski pumping water). You might find me flying down the Nottawasaga River and Georgian Bay in the summertime.
What is your favourite place you have travelled to?
Toss up. My 2 favourite places are; the Turks and Caicos Islands. Words cannot describe how beautiful the beach is and how amazing the food is. I can show you pictures, but you’ll have to fly down with me and taste for yourself. I'm your guide if you go! Second, Terceira Island, part of the Azores Islands of Portugal. Tons of family and amazing lifestyle there.
