Best Place In Collingwood For Boat Owners

Best Place In Collingwood To Live For Boat Owners

Nestled in the south part of Georgian Bay, Collingwood is not only a destination for boat owners but a place to live year-round. The boating season starts April 1 and runs until the end of October, giving boaters a glorious seven months of boating to enjoy. If you are not counted among those who travel to Collingwood from other areas of Ontario to spend time on your boat, consider Collingwood as your permanent home.  Whether it is a new build, a condo on the water or a house surrounded by history, Collingwood has a place for any desired lifestyle.

New Builds in Collingwood

Toronto-based developers Streetcar introduced Harbour House in 2021, designed to be six storeys with only 130 suites. Located on Huron Street, just a stone’s throw away from the Collingwood Yacht Club, these condos will have a range of bedrooms, sizes, and pricing. Residents will have access to the water, as well as be able to enjoy Best Place In Collingwood’s prosperous, historic downtown.  Harbour House condos are estimated to be completed by winter 2023.

Royal Windsor at Balmoral Village, developed by Sherwood Homes, is also slated to be completed in 2023. This condo building will be five storeys high, with a similar range in sizing and pricing as Harbour House. Located on the west end of Harbour Street, these condos are mere moments from the Collingwood Harbour, spas, ski clubs, and private golf courses.

While development timelines are yet unknown, the Collingwood Quay Condominiums are sure to be a top location for boat owners. These condos are part of the Shipyards community, which was built on what once was a shipbuilding site. Collingwood Quay will have 80 units at Heritage Drive and Side Launch way. Imagine the fresh water smell beckoning you every morning. Developers Fram + Slokker want residents to experience and enjoy all the benefits of waterside living.

Collingwood Communities

The Shipyards

Despite the history of shipbuilding, the community of Shipyards is relatively new. Boat owners who want to be close to the water and enjoy historical communities have options like apartment-style condos and 3–4-bedroom townhomes. This large condo community began in 2007, and as mentioned above, new condominium buildings are still being built.

Blue Shores

An older community, though still relatively young compared to Collingwood’s history, Blue Shores is a waterfront community boasting 203 units. There are various condos, freehold townhomes, bungalows, bungalofts and estate cottages. Young families living in Blue Shores have access to both elementary and secondary schools and are within walking distance of Collingwood’s historic downtown. Collingwood boat owners won’t have far to go to access the harbour from Blue Shores, and in the off-season, there’s still a lot to enjoy.

Cranberry Village

While homes in Cranberry Village aren’t as close to the water as The Shipyards and Blue Shores, it’s undoubtedly more established with some of the older homes built in the 1970s. For those looking for modernity in an established community, some of the newer Cranberry Village units were built in 2014.  This large community has various condos, including townhouse-style bungalows, 2-storey condos, homes with attached garages, and outdoor parking. Due to Cranberry Village’s large footprint, there are multiple areas to access the shores of Georgian Bay as it ranges from Cranberry Trail to Georgian Trail.

Nothing could be better than living in Collingwood as a boat owner and having first-hand access to the beauty that is Georgian Bay. We’re excited to work with you and your family on purchasing real estate in the area and allowing you to enjoy the lifestyle Collingwood provides.
